PSA invests in its plant in Slovakia

December 2005

By: Nargess Shahmanesh-Banks

PSA Peugeot Citroën has announced plans to expand its Trnava factory in Slovakia.

The reported €350m ($414m) investment will be implemented before the plant has even built its first car. Reports from inside PSA say that the sum will help to make an unspecified new vehicle.

The French motoring giant's investment in Slovakia underlines the rapid shift of Europe's carmaking from west to east, as manufacturers chase lower wages and more flexible working rules.
