This saloon responds to the wishes of demanding customers for even greater
engine output and agility. In order to meet their requirements, its 6-litre
V12 biturbo engine has been enhanced by Mercedes-AMG to develop 450 kW/612
hp. It also features a firmer suspension set-up which ensures that it
is able to transfer this formidable power to the road surefootedly without
compromising the extremely high level of ride comfort which is one of
the hallmarks of the Maybach luxury saloons.
This combination makes the Maybach 57 S the ideal high-end luxury saloon
for enthusiastic owner-drivers seeking the very latest high-performance
technology implemented in a manner which embodies the perfection characteristic
of the brand. The 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of just five seconds
provides impressive proof of the outstanding performance offered by the
new Maybach 57 S.
Visual highlights add emphasis to the distinctly dynamic character of
this impressively powerful luxury saloon. They include an exclusive monochrome
colour scheme featuring special black or silver paint finishes, a modified
front section with an enhanced radiator grille and revised light units,
a discreet "57 S" legend on the front wing below the A-pillar
and on the boot lid, as well as striking new 20-inch spoked wheels.
The highly distinctive and exclusive tone is maintained inside the vehicle
where a carefully balanced combination of piano lacquer and carbon elements
– especially in the areas within the driver's reach and immediate
field of view – creates an atmosphere of dynamic elegance.
The new Maybach 57 S can be found in the luxury brand's Center of Excellence
in Sindelfingen from November 2005.
The car also illustrate the exceptional scope for individualisation offered
by the brand. One example on show is a Maybach 57, for which the specialists
at the “Manufaktur” have developed a paint finish identical
to that of the Maybach "Zeppelin" model of 1933. And the similarities
don't end there: although the two vehicles were manufactured almost 75
years apart, they share not only the same paint finish, but also the same
interior appointments and even the same chassis number.
The Maybach presence at the Frankfurt show demonstrates that the “Manufaktur”
is also passionately committed to meeting other unusual customer requests
with outstanding craftsmanship and painstaking attention to every detail.
This is reflected in features such as trim elements finished in gold and
precious stones, gold keys, family coats of arms and various forms of
intricate inlay work.
Maybach attains the ultimate in individualisation with the exciting Exelero
Sports Coupé. Built as a one-off, this model, which was commissioned
by the tyre manufacturer Fulda, is capable of speeds in excess of 350
km/h.
