Tata looks South

June 2004

Tata Motors and Tata Africa have unveiled a range of passenger cars, utility vehicles and pick-ups intended for the ever-growing South African market.

Tata officials confirmed the range of vehicles will be available for sale in South Africa immediately, with other ‘unnamed’ products to be launched later this year.

Tata Africa, which has had a presence in the region for over 30 years, has drawn up an ambitious plan to reinvigorate the South African market. The vast range of commercial vehicles is supported by an effective after-market parts and service network to ensure high levels of product performance and customer satisfaction.

Tata Africa also announced a joint venture with the Imperial Group for distribution and marketing of the pick-ups in South Africa. It is expected that this will be a forerunner for more co-operation between the two organisations and will lead to high levels of customer satisfaction in the transportation industry.

Tata Motors is the world’s sixth largest commercial vehicle manufacturer and produces more than 150 commercial vehicle models with a range of light, medium to heavy duty trucks, buses and tractor-trailers. Tata Motors has a revenue of over $3.5 billion.
