Skoda increases production

January 2006

Skoda is planning to increase its production by 20 per cent between now and 2008.

In 2005, the Czech carmaker produced a total of 494,000 vehicles. It says that its short-term goal is to manufacture 600,000 cars a year for the next two years.

If the plans are successful, Skoda says that it could produce 1 million vehicles a year in the future. As part of the plans, production abroad is to be increased.
