  Volvo looks to Dongfeng for China partnership

Truck maker Volvo is talking to Dongfeng and Nissan about becoming involved in the Chinese joint venture company set up by the pair now that Nissan has sold its truck interests to Volvo.

Nissan intends to focus on passenger cars and light commercial vehicles and says that will remain the focus of its joint venture with Dongfeng.

Volvo is now talking to Dongfeng about setting up a truck joint venture alongside the existing arrangement with Nissan. Dongfeng is China’s largest truck builder already.
