Comesys goes European with new pedal assemblies

June 2004

By Dean Slavnich

Korean electronics company Comesys confirmed it has begun distribution of its unique non-contact electronic accelerator pedal assemblies and control devices to the European market.

Comesys claims its new control devices are suitable for a wide range of applications ranging from passenger cars to forklift trucks, with the pedals incorporating the advanced Comesys non-contact electronic rotary position sensor technology, which was originally developed for the harsh industrial equipment market.

The unique design of the sensors allow the accelerator pedals to be far simpler than conventional designs, with Comesys saying that it already supplies some major OEMs in the Asian market, with the hope now being that European manufacturers will be able to realise the benefits of the technology as well.
