  Hyundai opens new European HQ

13 October 2006

Hyundai has opened its new €50 million European headquarters in Offenbach, Germany. Home to its sales, marketing and aftersales divisions, the new building is part of Hyundai’s strategy to become one of the top brands in Europe.

The old HQ was in nearby Rüsselsheim, now the European research and design centre and recently expanded to include additional powertrain facilities and a new design studio. Further expansion is now possible with the creation of the new HQ.

Arnejs at the Paris show in September

The Arnejs concept car, displayed at the Paris motorshow, was designed in Rüsselsheim and will go on sale in Europe in mid 2007. It will be manufactured in Korea initially but it is said to be “extremely likely” that Hyundai’s first European plant in the Czech Republic will also make the Arnejs when it comes on line in 2008. This will give the company the capability to plan, design and produce cars for Europe in Europe.
