Audi goes for world leadership by 2015

15 January 2007

Audi’s chairman says the group is well on the way to becoming the world’s most successful “premium manufacturer” by 2015.

Rupert Stadler, chairman of the board of management of the German parent company, said: “We have not only achieved our eleventh sales record in succession but will also be announcing record levels of revenue and earnings. Audi is the fastest-growing premium brand.”

Audi sold 905,100 cars in 2006, an increase of 9.2 per cent over 2005. In all, it set new records for sales in 41 markets, including Germany, the UK, France, Spain and Italy, as well as the US and China.

Full financial figures for Audi are due to be released on 28 February.
