| Audi’s chairman says the group
is well on the way to becoming the world’s most successful “premium
manufacturer” by 2015.
Rupert Stadler, chairman of the board of management of the German parent
company, said: “We have not only achieved our eleventh sales record
in succession but will also be announcing record levels of revenue and
earnings. Audi is the fastest-growing premium brand.”
Audi sold 905,100 cars in 2006, an increase of 9.2 per cent over 2005.
In all, it set new records for sales in 41 markets, including Germany,
the UK, France, Spain and Italy, as well as the US and China.
Full financial figures for Audi are due to be released on 28 February.
