Honda to unveil sports hybrid at Geneva

5 February 2007

Honda is to unveil a small hybrid sports car concept at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The car has been designed by its R&D centre at Offenbach in Germany.

Other Honda concepts at Geneva will include an FCX that incorporates a new fuel cell stack as well as long low body. Honda says the new concept has a range of 354 miles and a top speed of 100 mile/h. The group plans limited sales of a new fuel cell vehicle in Japan and the US from next year.

Design study: Honda's sporty hybrid concept might look like this. Or so it says

Also at Geneva, Honda will be giving more details on its next geenration diesel powertrain that uses a new form of catalytic converter to cut NOx emissions to US Tier II/Bin 5 requirements. Instead of the conventional urea, Honda's catalytic converter uses ammonia generated within the converter to turn NOx into nitrogen and water. The new diesel engine is intended to be introduced in three years.
