PSA group reports "stable" sales in first half-year

6 July 2007

PSA Peugeot Citroën has reported that sales of cars and light commercial vehicles have remained stable at 1,764,000 units for the first six months of 2007.

The company says that in a declining world market this represented a small increase in its market share.

West European markets contracted by 0.8 per cent overall in the first six months, said PSA, but the group managed a 14.2 per cent market share against 14.0 per cent for the first six months of 2006.

PSA reported big growth in Latin America, where its sales rose by 12 per cent to 117,000 vehicles and in Eastern Europe sales were 18 per cent up to 105,000 units.
