Under the expansion plans, Ford intends to produce 125,000 cars a year at the plant from 2009, up from the present 72,000. The extra vehicles will be 25,000 Mondeos and 28,000 Focuses. Mondeo production will begin late in 2008. The St Petersburg plant at present makes the Focus in all four body styles. The Focus has been the biggest-selling non-Russian car in Russia for the past four years.
