| Iran Khodro sends first cars to Turkish market | 3 November 2007 |

| Iran Khodro has exported the first of its own-brand Samand sedan cars to Turkey, and the CEO of the Iranian carmaker says the experience could be good for future development of the firm's models in Europe. Iran Khodro aims to sell 3,000 of the Samand in the first year in the Turkish market, but could send as many as 10,000 cars if there is demand. The export Samand LX model is powered by a TU5 16-valve engine with 1600cc capacity. It accords with Euro III emission standards and is being adapted to Euro IV. CNG and diesel options will be available later. ABS and airbags are standard. Iran Khodro CEO Manouchehr Manteghi said that there were no plans at present for a Turkish plant, but he added that in the near future there would be a "joint cooperation" that would lead to "half the job taking place in Turkey and the rest in Iran".
