Porsche sees revenues grow in first half

25 January 2008

Porsche has reported revenues up by around 14 per cent to €3.5 billion for the first six months of its financial year, which runs from 1 August to 31 July.

The company said in a preliminary financial statement that sales were expected to increase in volume terms even more, by around 18.7 per cent to about 46,000 vehicles.

The financial figures are provisional because Porsche has not yet received the final figures from the Volkswagen group, in which it is a substantial shareholder.

Porsche said that the take-up of the new Cayenne was particularly strong, with more than 20,000 of the car likely to be sold in the first half. Last year's figures, though, were depressed by the withdrawal of the previous Cayenne model at the end of November 2006.
