The concept is an instrument cluster for the upper medium to luxury segment. Apart from its classic, contemporary design, the ease of use and potential for customisation are the distinctive features.
The design was based on the findings of a qualitative consumer research study about instrument clusters conducted by interior supplier, Johnson Controls in February 2005. It confirmed that many drivers still favour a traditional design with analogue displays, combined with a futuristic touch.
The company consequently developed the concept along the following lines:
a classic, analogue speedometer serves as the familiar element in the
instrument cluster, accentuated by a special three-dimensional tube design.
The supplier claims that it has always placed importance on easily understood
displays. The graphics are crisp and clear on the two high-resolution
monitors. Intuitive menus and a simplified range of functions means that
drivers always pick up the prompts quickly and correctly, leaving them
more time to concentrate on the road ahead. |
